Have you ever try to focus on your work but you always get distracted by your phone, your laptop or even your colleagues? and at last you are unable to finish your job on time because of all the distraction around you. Many time in our life as well, all of us I believe have a dream we want to reach, a target we want to achieve and a goal we want to fulfill. However, many of us fail to succeed in accomplishing our dream because of the distractions along the way in our life.

Your dream could be anything, to be a doctor, to be an entrepreneur, to be a business man or to be a musician, however while walking towards your dream, there will always be distractions around. Distractions from people- saying things to discourage you, to immobilize you to walk towards your dream. There will also be distractions from your past reminding you of your past mistakes and failures. Distractions as well could come from your mind, thinking of all the possibilities of your limitation in achieving your dream. All these are just few examples of distraction that can harm you in your journey.

However, we should always focus on your target and tune out the noises around us. A great example can be found in a football match where a team getting a penalty kick. And just about the penalty taker going to shoot, he will face a lot of distractions around him, the goalkeeper will try to intimidate him, the players around will discourage him and some fans will be booing at him and hoping he would miss. Can you imagine what’s going through the mind of the penalty taker? A strong penalty taker will focus on his target on where he will shoot and ignore the distractions around him. However, a weak penalty taker will allow the noises to shift his focus on missing his penalty.

Stay focus, ignore the distractions and you will accomplish your goals much faster.

Joel Osteen

Therefore, never allow those distractions talk you out and make you give up in your tracks toward your dream. Distraction can keep talking but it’s our job to keep on walking.  Focus on your target like how an archer aims towards the target. Once you let your arrow go, there is no stopping you in reaching your dream.
