If you get tired, Learn to Rest, Not to Quit

Anonymous

How many of us think of quitting our dreams before? Whatever your dreams maybe, to be a singer, to be a great salesman, to do a business, to graduate with a PhD, anything, how many of us along the way thought of giving up? I do have this thought many times. When things are going are not getting better, there is always a thought inside my head saying, ‘Is this all worth it?’, ‘Why waste time doing this?’, ‘You will never achieve it, just give up’.

However, we all know giving up and quitting is not the answer to reach our dream. Instead, we should learn to rest up and not to bow out. For instances, young aspiring actors and actress are not taught to bow out from their rehearsals each time there were mistakes, instead, they would take a few minutes break before continuing their rehearsals.

Therefore, whatever stages in your life you may be in, be it, you may be struggling in your work or you are currently stuck on a pathway towards your dream, remember to always take a rest and not to bow out. You see, sometimes rest is all we need to get new ideas and inspiration. We may be trying so hard for so long to achieve our goals without making any proper progress and we are running out of ideas, all we need is to just learn to rest and instead of us chasing for ideas, the ideas will sometimes present itself to us.

Doing NOTHING often leads to the very best SOMETHING.

Winnie the Pooh

I watched a movie last year called ‘Christopher Robins’, (Spoiler) the show was about Christopher, who was working very, very hard for a bag company and in the beginning of the movie, he was given a very difficult task from his boss, he took the whole weekend just to finish up the task and neglecting his family. But somehow he bumped into his old friend, Winnie the Pooh. To cut the story short, the quote that strikes me the most was ‘Doing Nothing often leads to the very best Something’. When Christopher was working hard on the task, he found no answers, but once he learn to rest, he finally found an answer. In the end, he managed to present his task successfully to all the board members.

Therefore, let us learn to REST UP and not to BOW OUT in walking towards our goals, dreams and aspiration for we will never know sometimes all we need is a rest in order to progress.
