If you are PERSISTENT, you will get it. If you are CONSISTENT, you’ll will keep it.

Harvey Mackay

These are the two main important ingredients in order to achieve your dreams and goals in life. Sometimes, many people are so close to reach their destination of their dreams but in the last turn, many eventually quit.

A couple of instances, during a sales call, you may have been rejected 200 times and decided to quit without knowing of not making the 201 calls was the call you have been waiting for your whole day. Another example could be while you are applying for jobs, you may have applied for 100 companies and non of them accepted you in, you begin to wonder that there was no point at all continuing and therefore, quit without knowing that by applying for the 101 company was the one that will accept you in.

What we can learned is that we got to be PERSISTENT for what we want. To go on despite facing rejection and disappointment so that one day we might have direction with enjoyment.

I heard a story from Les Brown when he wanted to be a disc jockey, he goes to the boss PERSISTENTLY every single day despite him saying ‘NO’, till one day, he accepted him in, not as a disc jockey, but just a helper. However, Les was not disappointed as he knows his time will come. He continued to be CONSISTENT at what he was asked to do, till one day, that opportunity came for him to become a disc jockey. He did it so well that he keep his job as a disc jockey.

In closing, ask yourself today, what are you persistent about? Are you consistently doing what you need to do? Just remember, with persistence, you will get it and with consistency, you will keep it. Lastly, no matter what are our ultimate goals and vision in life, we got to be persistent in the face of challenges and once we have reached our goal, we got to be consistent in doing what is necessary to continue to live in our dreams.
