Awareness is the greatest agent for change

Eckhart Tolle

A – Awareness

B – Before

C – Change

Debbie Ford said “Self-Awareness is the ability to take an honest look at your life without attachment to it being right or wrong.”

Sometimes, we refuse to change because we refuse to be self-aware. On the other hand, sometimes we change something in our life without being self-aware. One of the reason being we do not want to be self-aware. However, the funny thing about us is that we like to comment about other people but our own we choose not to know.

There is saying that our own flaws, we can’t see but the flaws in others we can see. In other words, if we were to have a dirt on our hair, we can’t see but if there is a dirt on other people’s hair, we can see. Therefore, sometimes, we need the help of others to be aware of ourselves in order to make changes or improvement. You see, once we know that we have dirt on our hair, we will quickly make changes to remove it.

Here’s the thing, we got to be self aware before making change. We got to know where we are, to know our position, to know where is our current standing before making any adjustment.

Just as when we key in our destination in our GPS, the GPS will not only locate our destination but will locate our current position, in order for the GPS to find the best route to reach our destination. Therefore, in our life as well, when we want to change direction, we first got to be self-aware. It is always awareness before change and not the other way around.

Today, before making any changes, be self-aware, identify your position and standing in order to make major changes and improvement. Just remember the ABC of transformation, Awareness Before Change.
