Look inside yourself. You are more than what you have become. Remember who you are. Remember…

Mufasa (The Lion King)

Our all time favourite childhood movie “The Lion King” is currently playing on the big screen again with its live-action remake. I believe all of us know the story of “The Lion King”, the movie doesn’t just touched us with its great story-line and characters but it taught us a great valuable lesson.

There are a lot of special moments in “The Lion King” but the one part that hits me was when Mufasa appears to Simba again in the clouds reminding his son saying “REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE”. The movie shows Simba losing his identity after feeling guilty for the cause of his father’s death. However, after seeing his father again in the clouds, Simba regains back his identity and confidence to challenge his uncle, Scar, to take his place as the rightful King and the rest we know was history.

In our life as well, sometimes because of past defeats and mistakes, the bad experiences and circumstances, the guilt and shame we carry upon ourselves, we begin to lose ourselves, we forgotten who we are just like Simba , as Rafiqi says we sometimes prefer to run from our past than to learn from it and when we look at ourselves in the mirror, we can’t recognize who’s the person anymore.

Today, if we feel that we have lost ourselves in the process because of our past, Look inside ourselves and see that we have become more than we are, it is time to REMEMBER WHO WE ARE. We are champions, we are born a winner, we are here to do great things, we got what it takes to achieve our dreams and goals, we are fully equipped with the skills and abilities to succeed and we are the KINGS and QUEENS of our life. Today, it is our time to REMEMBER WHO WE ARE.

  1. Hi David, I like this. In our family, we have a saying – Remember who you are and why you’re here. That last part may take some thinking for some people, but it can give you a path to follow. Thanks for sharing.
