When you dance to your rhythm, Life taps its toes to your beat

Terri Guillemets

How many of you all love dancing?

When I was younger I used to dance a lot. From the roadside, during class time, during the stage performances, you named it, I’ve danced there. People often make fun of me at that time while I was dancing but I just keep carrying on dancing.

Now this is not the best example of all, but what I want to share today is be yourself and follow your own rhythm in life. We don’t have to compare ourselves to other people. I heard someone said this, ‘Don’t trade your authenticity for approval. Sometimes, we might feel the pressure from society demanding us to act in a certain way in order to gain approval from them. But here’s the thing, dance to your own rhythm in life.

When you dance to your own rhythm, people may not understand you. But mostly they’ll wish they had the courage to do the same.

Sue Fitzmaurice

There are other times, the pressure is not from society but from ourselves. Each time when we see the people around us, our friends, colleagues, family members going further than us in life, achieving more success, possessing more things and because of it, sometimes, we try to push ourselves to become like them.

But here’s the thing, dance to your own rhythm, run your own race, never compare with others, do your best and one day, you can achieved your wildest dream. Therefore, today if you ever feel like you have been pressured by others or even yourself to gain approval from society, remember one thing, dance to your own rhythm in life.
