BE YOURSELF – not the idea of what you think someone else’s of yourself should beHenry David Thoreau
In this world, there will always be pressure from societies or close ones demanding you to become who they thought you should become. And at times, we just meet up with their demands till to the point sometimes, we lost ourselves.
There are other times, where this pressure is not from societies but from ourselves. Each time when we compare with someone else, we might envy them. Others may be taller, smarter or better looking and sometimes, we wished that we could be like them. And we pressure ourselves to buy better clothing, to buy expensive cars etc.. .
Though it is nothing wrong to admire someone or having a role model, but sometimes, if we are not careful and keep on comparing, we might forget who we are. We might forget what’s special inside of us.
The thing is this, there will always be someone bigger than you, smarter than you, more talented than you but there won’t be someone who is like you. You have your own specialty, greatness and uniqueness that no one else possess. Just be yourself and not to compare with others. Someone once said, ‘If you are comparing yourself, you are only insulting yourself.’
Therefore, lift the mask off, decide your own path, be original, follow your heart and not someone else and things may suddenly work out for you. In closing, one of the greatest challenge in life is not trying to be like someone else who is great but by being yourself in a world trying to make you like everyone else.
