We rise by lifting othersRobert Ingersoll
In life, let’s not only think about ourselves and helping ourselves only. All of us go through life experiencing our own problems and hardship. However, let’s not make that as an excuse of us just taking care about ourselves.
In this midst of our difficulties, instead of just trying to help ourselves, we should also take care of one another. Sometimes when we choose to help people, lifting others up and encouraging others up, somehow our problems will help itself. We are actually helping ourselves when we are helping others.
My favourite book said, “It’s more blessed to give than to received.” There is something profound about the statement and it is somehow very true. The more we give, the more we receive.
Winston Churchill once said, “We make a living by what we get. But we make a life by what we give.” You see, helping, giving and serving people is one of the key to rise in life. Just imagine for a moment, you helped a friend with a problem and you told him that you are facing some difficulty as well, and your friend is willing to help you as he got all the contacts you need. Hence, we rise by lifting others up.
By helping others, we will increase trust, we will find deeper connections with others, we will have new and happy communities as well as restoring those who are lonely. Hence, today, help someone today, encourage someone today, lift someone today, serve someone today and we’ll rise together.
