Humility does not mean weakness. It does not mean timidity. It does not mean fear. A man can be humble and fearless. A man can be humble and courageous.Ezra Taft Benson
Many times by being humble is often mistaken as being weak, scared or shy. Many times people think that it is by being loud, confident and a ‘show off’ is a sign of strength.
However, that is not always the case. In fact, Rabindranath Tagore once said, “We come nearest to the great when we are great in humility.”
Now, the key here is to remain humble at heart after achieving so much success. The challenge is not remain humble before the victory but to remain humble after a victory. Here’s the thing, when we are showing off too much, many will perceived us as being arrogant.
It is totally understandable when one work hard to achieve success but one can be more respected when he is humble after achieving success. The key here is never lose yourself in success and to always remember your roots.
Zig Ziglar said, “Humility will open more doors than arrogance ever will.” C.S Lewis said, “Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it’s thinking yourself less.” Hence, by being humble is a sign of strength, a sign of care and a sign of wisdom because you are portraying what humility is all about.
Therefore, no matter who we are, let us choose to remain humble, to be kind to everyone we meet, regardless of ages, gender, class or position. A human is still a human.
