An inch of Gold is an inch of TIME but you can’t buy that inch of time with an inch of GOLD

A Chinese Proverb

Recently, a friend of mine just lost his mother. Moments before, he was seen rushing off from work to go home when his mom is still alive. However a few hours later, he received the news that his mom has pass away. In the end, he didn’t get to see his mom just before she goes.

This got me reminded of how important our time is, how important our family is, how important our love ones are, how important our health is. Sometimes, in life we might think we still got time, and therefore, we might delay our family gathering later, we might delay our fun time with our children later because we might think that work is the most important.

Harvey Mackay said, “Time is free but it’s priceless, you can’t own it but you can use it. You can’t keep it but you can spend it. Once you’ve lost it you can never get it back.” Howard Stark, Ironman’s dad said in a movie, “No amount of money can ever bought a second of time.”

As we can see, time is actually the real goal. Sometimes, we might be thinking that work is very important. But here’s the thing, work will always be there, there is no finishing it, when we die or got fired, that work is still there. Instead of us replacing our work, our work replaces us.

Hence, work is always there, but our time, our family, our love ones, ourselves will not always be there. Therefore, start spending your time wisely, spend time with your family and love ones, start spending time and taking care of yourself. There are certain things in life that are much more important than your job. TIME.
